The Lickenator – De Likknikkerbaan

The Lickenator is a challenge in which two players can test their tongue agility and taste sensation. Two lickers are standing face to face, while using only their tongue to move a ‘lick marble’ across the track. Each marble includes four different ingredients that together form one dish. Who has the fastest time? And who has the best tasting ability? Joining the challenge, people are invited to step out of their comfort zone, playing a game in public by using the strengths of your tongue.

As part of the flavour development, I focused on the research and development of the dishes, which contained four ingredients and were moulded in agar gels. Every ingredient was combined with different textures, e.g. an ingredient high in acidity like lime had a more sharp texture, a creamy butter flavour had a more rounded, nipple-like shape.

The Dishes:

Sushi | cucumber, rice, soy sauce and nori
Apple pie | apple, cinnamon, raisin, butter
